The Behavior Is Fruit, Not Root

About a 3 minute pause

THE FAMILIAR VIEW

Sin is a list of wrong actions that simply need to stop.

ROTATE THE PRISM

Our actions matter. But repeated harm usually grows from somewhere deeper.

Control may grow from fear. Cruelty may hide shame. Greed may begin in the belief that there will never be enough.

Seeing the root does not excuse the fruit. It shows us where healing must reach if we want something different to grow.

SIT WITH THIS

What repeated action may be growing from a deeper fear or wound?

How might understanding the root help me take more honest responsibility?

Every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
Matthew 7:17

CARRY THIS TODAY

When harmful fruit appears, become curious about the root before shame takes over.

Lasting change reaches beneath what happened to what keeps producing it.
