Love was never asking us to earn it.
Many of us learned to approach God’s love as something we might receive after becoming good enough, faithful enough, or healed enough. But love that must be earned cannot awaken us; it can only keep us performing.
This song is an invitation to remember what fear made us forget: we do not transform so that love will finally reach us. We transform because love has already reached us.
